1つはout で始まる動詞で、「勝る」「超える」という意味のoutnumber、outweigh、outperformの3つです。
もう1つはdouble、triple で、「2倍にする」「3倍にする」を表します。
＜outnumber:「数」が勝る＞
「ノンネイティブの数は、ネイティブよりも多い」The number of nonnatives is greater than the number of natives.↓ Nonnatives outnumber natives.
「out + number」で「数が勝る」を表す。動詞1語で明快に伝えることができます。
＜outweigh:「重み」が勝る＞
